Water Fever was a lethal waterborne disease which spread in 662 during the Great Famine. It was named due to its association with the flooded regions covered with the melted snowfalls. In 664 heavy rains made a renewed outbreak to happen.
It was usually caught when the diseased water was consumed, but might also be picked up if the victim swam or bathed in the water. After three days high fever, severe abdominal pain, and diarrhea appeared. Untreated victims died within five days.
