People

Shinjo Suguru was a magistrate and air shugenja of the Unicorn Clan who became the ronin, Suguru. She secretely swore fealty to the Tsuruchi family as Tsuruchi Suguru and founded the small vassal Suguru family.

Unicorn Clan Edit

Suguru once served the Unicorn as a magistrate, but was made ronin through political manipulation after having delved too deep into the past of her daimyo, [1] Shinjo Yokatsu.

Ronin Edit

Suguru wandered since then, even serving Tsuruchi himself, for a short time. She chased and tracked down bloodspeakers, several all of whom had originally been Imperial Magistrates. She eventually moved to the Tsuruchi lands, with a scroll detailing an intricate Bloodspeaker plot to infiltrate the Tsuruchi and replace the Tsuruchi Daimyo Tsuruchi Ichiro with some sort of replica. On the way Suguru was injured but fled of her attackers, until she was found by Ichiro's son, Tsuruchi Hiro. They moved to see Ichiro alongside with two guardsmen. While Suguru was discussing with Ichiro, one of the guardsmen revealed as a bloodspeaker. She called the air kami to protect Ichiro and his heir of the maho spells, until the the guard-turned-Bloodspeaker was beheaded by a Tsuruchi bushi. [1]

Mantis Clan Edit

Ichiro granted her fealty to the Tsuruchi, and the Suguru family was secretly created and its members would be made ji-samurai, vassals to the Tsuruchi, with fewer than half a dozen vassals. They were given the task of rooting out corruption in the magistrates of the Empire. [2]
