a Tsumunagi

Tsumunagi, also known as the blood eel, lived in areas heavily tainted, inside rotten trunks, in bogs and marshlands. They had two sucking mouths on the underside of its black and rubbery body, [1] and along the edges of their bodies were tiny gripping hooks. At either end of the creature were grappling claws. They sprung on nearby victims and wrapped themselves tightly around one of his limbs. [2] The creature’s saliva thinned the blood, so even a freed the victim would continue to bleed profusely unless properly bandaged. It would release its grasp applying a flame to its skin. [3]
