|Please note: This article is about the courtier. For other uses of the term, please see Naishi (disambiguation).|
In the year 1200 Naishi was at Toshi Ranbo. A group of samurai fought the assassins who had attempted to silence the Voice of the Empress, Hida Kozan. The assailants were routed, but not before Ikoma Katsuro, Yasuki Kaito, and Kitsuki Miroken died during the fight. Miroken had deflected an assassin's projectile away from Susumu Naishi and into his own throat.
Naishi disappeared, and her corpse was eventually found. A funeral was held to honor her memory. A remembrance was made altogether with the late Yasuki Aitoko. Yoritomo Mikaru, who had been investigating her disappearance, had a lingering suspicion that Naishi was not dead after all.
Naishi was a member of the Kolat conspiracy, and had faked her dead to reappear as Tsukete, resident monk of the Temple of Dark Fortunes at Toshi Ranbo. Under the command of the Abbot, Master Coin, she recruited Mirumoto Kyoshiro, who became Master Chrysanthemum.
