Troll

From L5r: Legend of the Five Rings

A Troll

The trolls were the only civilization to survive both the Nezumi and the fall of Fu Leng. They did however not survive the rulership of Hida Osano-Wo. Remnants of their civilization still existed, the ruins of Volturnum, where the Battle of Oblivion's Gate was fought.[1]

[edit] Physiology

Trolls were green and flabby, measuring six to seven feet tall. They resembled ogres, but only slightly, as ogres were more muscular, bulky and stood taller. Trolls looked fatter and misshapen, their arms were often abnormally long, misshaping their frame further. They had protruding jaws with noticeable fangs, and their eyes shone and could sometimes be seen from afar. [citation needed]

Unlike ogres, trolls had females and males of the species, but they would rarely mate. [citation needed]

[edit] Habitat

Trolls appeared to be amphibious, or at the very least they were able to stay underwater for several hours. In fact this was one of their attacking techniques, they would stay under the surface and then jump out on their victim. Trolls were mostly found in the swamp areas of the Shadowlands, and would rarely be found within Rokugan itself. [citation needed]

[edit] Attacks

Trolls would prefer ambushes to direct confrontation. If faced with superior numbers the trolls would flee and remain out of sight until the threat was gone. When fighting they would fight with all the strength they could muster, until one of them was slain. If travelling through the Shadowlands they should be avoided rather than confronted.[1]
