Toku Ishimiko was the daughter of Aoki, an elderly sensei of the Monkey Clan, and was fostered with the Tsuruchi family of the Mantis and learnt at their school. It can be presumed that this was part of an initiative by the Monkey Clan to establish good relationships with and learn from the other magisterial families in the Empire. [1]
