The Three Man Alliance was formed in 1121.

Inciting Incidents Edit

Following a series of minor squabbles in court, the Scorpion dispatched the tactician, Bayushi Tomaru to deal with the Sparrow Clan. Tomaru was caught off guard when his army was opposed by the Sparrow, aided by Wasp archers and Fox shugenja. Forced to retreat, [1] Tomaru was later publicly rebuked by the Scorpion Clan Champion Bayushi Shoju. The site of the battle is known as Mitsu Otoko Rengo Heigen. [2]

Aftermath Edit

The Wasp Clan daimyo proposed an alliance amoung their three clans to prevent the Crane or Scorpion from attacking each other through the lands and routes in the territory of the three clans. [2]

Date code Edit

Sparrow Clan used a modified calendar based upon the year of their founding. It was not uncommon for the other members of the Three Man Alliance to use it, particularly the Fox. The Tsuruchi use it some as well, although not as often as they once did. [3]

Fall of the Alliance Edit

During the Clan War the Mantis Clan Champion, Yoritomo, summoned the leaders of Three Man Alliance, Suzume Yugoki, son of the Sparrow Clan Champion, Ryosei from the Fox, and Tsuruchi from the Wasp. Yugoki made no objection when the other leaders joined the Yoritomo's Alliance, but the scarcity of bushi within the Sparrow Clan forced Yugoki to stand aside. [4]
