Added by Oni no PikachuThe Test of the Emerald Champion was a tournament, generally formatted as a series of iaijutsu duels, that determined who would hold the title of Emerald Champion. [1]

Emperor's Enforcer
Edit
The test was originally created to determine the Emperor's personal bodyguard, and its first winner was Kakita in the year 23. [2] The First Tournament saw contests of athletics, wrestling, and strategy that culminated in a kenjutsu tournament. [3] Because of its reliance on the style of duels that Kakita created and mastered, the test has often gone to Crane Clan samurai. [citation needed]
Test to be performed
Edit
- Test of Etiquette: it was considered the most difficult of the tests. [4]
- Test of Investigation [5]
- Test of Law [6]
- Test of Leadership: [7] the contenders played Go. The boards were made to present a challenge to one of the players. While some boards were set up normally, others were set up in a way that would never happen in a real game. The purpose of the test was never to see if a contender could beat his opponent. It was to see if he could adapt to the scenario and attempt new strategies. [1]
- Test of Martial Ability [8]
- Test of Resources [9]
- Iaujutsu tournament [10]
