The Temple of Fudo was the hidden temple of the Fudoists, a heretical sect of the Brotherhood of Shinsei.
Heresy[]
The teachings of Fudo were eventually censored by the Brotherhood of Shinsei as heretical. [1] In the 4th century the Asahina Daimyo Asahina Miroken permitted the Fudoists to remain hidden away within the Asahina lands, to escape from the chase of the Brotherhood. [2] The Temple of Fudo was built in the deepest portions of the Spine of the World Mountains, where the range divided the Crane holdings into two. The Tao of Fudo] and the Heart of Fudo were placed there. [3]
Exposed[]
The Fudoists became active during the Age of Conquest, mainly in the Colonies, emerging to confront the threat of the mad dragon P'an Ku. [4] The temple was exposed in 1199, when a group of Emerald Magistrates led by Doji Hakuseki found in the temple the Dark Naga as it possessed one of its underlings. [5]
Asahina Scandal[]
After it was revealed that the Asahina had permitted the Fudoists to remain hidden away within their lands, the Empire sought punishment. Asahina Nanae, the Jade Champion, was obliged by her lord Doji Makoto to abdicate. [6]
