Tamori Tomaru

Tamori Tomaru was an Earth shugenja and Alchemist of the Dragon Clan.

Demeanor

Tomaru was a dispassionate man, interested in spellcrafting research and alchemy. He disappeared for weeks at a time into his private study, emerging with all manner of new secrets for his family to put to use.

Wyrmbone Katana

During the War of Dark Fire many wyrm had died immolated in the molten lava of Tamori's Furnace during the Fall of Shiro Tamori. The Tamori discovered their bones intact, and indeed resembled steel. Tomaru and his smithes used the ribs of the beasts, which already bore a similar shape to a katana, to craft the Wyrmbone Katana. The blades were first used against the Army of Fire when they attempted to assault Toshi Ranbo, the Imperial City. Some of the speed and strength of the wyrms was lent to those samurai armed with the katana, allowing them to easily dispatch their foes.

Shinden Asahina

In 1193 Tomaru and his sensei Tamori Ruya came to Shinden Asahina to speak with the Asahina Daimyo. After two weeks of waiting Asahina Keigo announced their audience had been granted, but only to an older monk, Asahina Shigemitsu. Ruya returned to the Asahina a tainted netsuke crafted by the infamous daimyo Asahina Keitaro in the Anvil of Despair. Eventually this event forged an alliance between both families, with small groups of Tamori and Asahina traveling the empire together.
