Talk:Sword of Yotsu
From L5r: Legend of the Five Rings
wow, that baisicaly elevates the seppun to clan status doesn't it? -- Yoritomo Ginsumoto
- How do you figure that? --Majushi 17:28, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
the Yotsu still keep their own name, but are subordinate. And they wear both Mon - just like a lesser family within a clan to the ruling family -- Yoritomo Ginsumoto
- Having a vassal family doesn't make them a Great Clan; it just gives them a vassal family. The Miya already had one, and I'd be surprised if we don't see a few minor clans with them soon. It gives the Seppun a little more influence, but certainly not that much more. ~ShibaRyu~

- It gives the Imperials a little more in the way of military force to protect their status. Little more. But still nice to have. Akaihyo 18:00 EDT, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- I would have thought that the addition of the Yotsu to the Seppun would be like adding 10 to a 100... The Seppun have always been the most militaristic of the Imperial families (being the bodyguards of the Emperor etc). I assume the Yotsu are significantly smaller than the Seppun. It is not to say however, that the Yotsu are not a worthy addition. In fact I believe that the Seppun got a good deal out of this. --Majushi 01:09, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know that the Yotsu realy got anything out of it though... they were already a clanless family, and still are. Though their own family has dropped in status being a vassal family now instead of a full one. So realy if you concider it, they lost out. The Yotsu could have joined any clan as a full family and moved up in status instead of sidways or (possibly) down. -Yoritomo Ginsumoto
- Actually, as a ronin family the Yotsu would most likely not have as high status as a great clan family. Granted they would have more than normal ronin, but becoming a ji-samurai probably did neither lower nor increase their percieved status. If anything, a vassal family of an Imperial family would have more status than a vassal family of a Great Clan family. --Majushi 19:26, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I can think of one solid benefit the Yotsu probably get out of it. A place to live. They were camping in the infested ruins of Otosan Uchi for the longest time so now they probably have a nice fort somewhere. --Shinjo Haruo
- Didn't the Crane give them a place to live before they became vassals of the Seppun? --Majushi 08:28, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
