AEG Meta Edit

The Striking as Fire kata was simple, short and adaptable to any weapon or even empty hands. This kata was taught right away by schools who emphasized on speed over power, and it improved the accuracy and repetition of a students strike. [1] [2]

FFG Meta Edit

The Striking as Fire kata taught a bushi that victory could not be achieved through defense alone, and it was a poor student of the sword who forgot that their most important goal was to cut down their enemy. A bushi fiercely pressed the attack, trying to force an error or open an opportunity to end their enemy. [3]
