The Sixty-Year Chasm was a fissure in the Shadowlands where Hida Renchi, a minor daimyo, ordered all people over age sixty be thrown into this chasm. Oni used to impersonate elders, and Renchi expected to eliminate that trick, and rid his lands of the burden of hundreds of people too old to fight. Renchi was proved to be a fool and committed seppuku. [1]

Haunted Place[]

The angry tainted ghosts haunted the chasm, and began to call any Hida near the cliff edge. The voices requested to share his youth, and those of weak mind did not resist their call, walking over the edge. [1]
