The Shosuro family was founded by Bayushi's first follower, Shosuro. Shosuro excelled in acting, drama, treachery, and the arts, as her followers do today. The Shosuro are excellent spies and courtiers, as well as assassins.
Since the time of Iuchiban's first rising, the Shosuro family have been allied with the Ikoma family for one purpose, to protect the Emperor. (Scorpion p. 30)
The Shosuro are a family veiled in lies. While Clans like the Crab and the Lion are the "experts" on fighting, the Scorpion deal with things quietly, carefully making sure no witnesses survive. If you befriend a Shosuro, do not be surprised if you find your problems quickly melting away.
