Shogun

The Shogun is a title theorized by Sun Tao, the famous ronin tactician. The Shogun is the general of the Imperial Legions. The Shogun is the ruler of the people when the Emperor cannot, or will not, lead. The Shogun can overthrow the ruling Emperor with military force if he sees that the Emperor is not fulfilling his duties to the Empire.
The title was first bestowed upon Kaneka in 1160. At that time, Shosuro Higatsuku, Akodo Ijiasu, Moto Chagatai, Hida Hitoshi, Kitsuki Remata and Yoritomo Kumiko shattered their wakizashi, much like the Kami had done to show loyalty to Hantei, creating the office of Shogun.
