Senpet

The Senpet Empire is an ancient nation north-west of the Burning Sands, roughly the size of Rokugan, ruled by a Pharaoh. The Empire lies along the Nahr'umar river, downstream from Medinat al-Salaam. Their history claims they were the first humans to construct a building anywhere, and any visitor can witness the majesty of their architecture. They worship a pantheon of ten thousand gods, many of which are divine aspects of death.

For almost fifty years, their supplies of food and water have been dwindling. If the trend continues for another fifty, the Senpet Empire will disappear. There was concern that, finding themselves in desperate straits, they could turn their might against Rokugan. However, they are currently losing a war against the more powerful Yodotai, so the danger seems to have disappeared. (SoUnicorn p. 83)

The Senpet were by the Scorpion Clan during their banishment to the Burning Sands. The Scorpion were taken as slaves for an amount of time, until they were freed along with the Kami Shinjo.
