The Rising Claws kata was taught by the Bayushi Bushi school with bladed weapons. The bushi moved in a circle around the invisible foe, feinting in and out quickly, but never actually striking the "opponent.", making underhanded and obviously deceitful moves. What the bushi was actually attempting to do was find a rhythm in the opponent's defense to take advantage of. [1]
