Phoenix tattoo draws upon the power of the phoenix, a creature of honor and insight. When drawing upon this tattoo the monk may increase the difficulty or ease of any spell cast upon him. The monk must also respect the pacifistic nature of the phoenix, and cannot initiate a fight. They are however able to defend themselves. (Dragon p. 47)
