Mokihara was a member of the Mantis Clan. The influential Otomo lord Otomo Daimesu had been kidnapped by bandits and Mokihara was instrumental to save Daimesu's life. In return the Otomo lord granted Mokihara his own daughter in marriage. Mokihara was father of Otomo Shikan and grandfather of Otomo Taneji. [1] [2]
