Oracle of Earth

Oracle of Earth

The Oracle of Earth was the representative of the Dragon of Earth on Rokugan, and over the years had been many different people.

The Oracle of the early 12th century Edit

In the early 12th century, the Oracle of Earth had the timeless form of a beautiful woman. She would regularly recite riddles and whisper in laughter to no one in particular. No one was certain if she was mad or simply unaware of her actions. [1]

Hiruma Osuno Edit

Hiruma Osuno

Hiruma Osuno was the most recent Oracle of Earth. Like many of his predecessors, he retained little to no knowledge of his time as a mortal. [2] The Oracle first lived in Shiro Heichi [3] and later in a tower within the Twilight Mountains created from tightly woven vines, the Tower of Vines. [1] This tower had been considered home of the Oracle of Earth long time ago. [1]

Flight of the Dragons Edit

In 1127 during the Clan War, several Black Scrolls were opened, disturbing the Celestial Order. The Elemental Dragons withdrew from Rokugan and their Oracles went into hiding. The Oracles of Darkness twisted the power of a different element releasing the Elemental Terrors, whose spawn appeared elsewhere. Decided to counteract their corrupted counterparts, Asako Shingon and Iuchi Yogosha were brought to create a set of Elemental Nemuranai. The Oracles rested knowing the balance had been achieved. [4]

Mirumoto Saori Edit

After twenty years of peace under the rule of Iweko I, the Celestial Order had been restored and Ningen-do was again neutral. In 1199 the Elemental Dragons prepared the return of the Oracles of Light, as well as the Dark Oracles, permitted leave from the depths of Jigoku by their master, Daigotsu. [5] The Oracles of Light held a new Conclave of Light to discuss the affairs of the Heavens and of men for the first and last time [6] in 1200, and the Student of Shourido Mirumoto Saori was the new Oracle of Water. She boasted that the position had been seized instead to be granted, so it was presumed she had slain the former Oracle. [7]
