O-toyo were Rokugani spirits which fed in the blood of mortals. [1]

Natural of Gaki-do, the spirit had a strong corporeal form in Ningen-do. The creature actually had connections to Chikushudo, and it resembled a human-sized cat with exaggerated fangs and sharp claws. They resided in forests and less populated areas and fed almost exclusively on humans. The o-toyo normally maintained a meek and docile nature to fool others into approaching, but once its prey wa in range it attacked pinning the target to the ground with its claws, then bit into the victim's neck, feeding on its essence.
