Its saya was made of the deepest black wood and decorated with silver trimmings. The blade was made of fine steel, and the tsuba was a ring of dull black metal that separated the blade and hilt. The end of Nokemono's hilt was cast from bright silver and beared the symbol of the Shadowlands. The blade create an aura of fear nearby. [1]

Discovered Edit

Nokemono was found by the Jade Champion Asahina Sekawa alongside the other nine Lotus Swords. When Sekawa saw a sword that bore a fearsome, demonic face, the symbol of Daigotsu, he knew the Fortune had blessed not only the nine Great Clans, also had extended his gift to the Shadowlands. [2] The very existence of the blade Nokemono was considered a grievous insult to all of the Great Clans, since it seemed to place them on equal footing with the hated Shadowlands. [1]

The Shadowlands Edit

Daigotsu gave the sword to its current holder Daigotsu Eiya in 1168 as a reward for defending the Temple of the Ninth Kami from Munemitsu no Oni's attack, during the birth of his son Daigotsu Kanpeki. [3] [1]
