[edit] Ambitions

In the time before Rokugan's founding, when the Five Ancient Races built the City of Night, Tsuno Kishenku led a group of renegade kitsu who tried to usurp the power of the city for themselves. Their plot devastated the city, but was foiled. Kishenku's son, Tsuno Nintai took control of the rebels to continue his father's work, but also failed. Chased by the kenku, kitsu, ningyo, trolls, and zokujin, they were eventually cornered and banished to Toshigoku. There, he and his cohorts were twisted and became the Tsuno.[1]

[edit] Tsuno Race

Now a monster, he spent the centuries learning how to walk the spirit realms and began a quest for vengeance. The rest of the kitsu had been exterminated or joined the Lion Clan. Nintai wreaked vengeance upon them, destroying much of the Kitsu Tombs in 1159. He also allied with Daigotsu, aiding him in creating the Onisu, especially Kanashimi, the tsuno-like Nightmare of the Lion Clan.[2]

[edit] Nintai and the Nezumi

Nintai was eventually defeated by the nezumi shaman Te'tik'kir during a battle in Toshigoku. Te'tik'kir restored Nintai's name, reverting him back to a kitsu. Nintai, penitent, sought to atone for his crimes by sealing the rest of his cohorts in Toshigoku forever.[1] Nintai stayed with the nezumi and watched over their bodies during Tomorrow. Afterward, Nintai interred them all, mourning for his fallen allies.[3]

[edit] After Tomorrow

Nintai took up residence at the shrine erected by the Lion. The shrine was in honor of Te'tik'kir, who had saved the last Kitsu.[4]

[edit] Death in Shinomen

During the burning of the Shinomen Forest, Nintai was directly attacked by Spider forces. He was found pinned to a wall through his heart, and skinned. [5]
