Nigori was the rokugani word for the unfiltered sake, which was considered a low quality beverage. [1] However, it was also true that the flavor profile, mouth-feel, and appearance of unfiltered sake was very different from that of filtered sake, and so there was some merit to this distinction. [2] It was the preferred sake for many Tsuruchi. [3]
