Nigai was a laborer and a Bloodspeaker.
Bloodspeaker Cell Edit
Nigai had always envied the samurai, and willingly joined a Bloodspeaker cell led by the monk Asai, based in the Yasurugi Monastery. The group kidnapped Jakunen, an old man who lived in Danshou village, slaughtered a family in Tenraku village, followed by the abduction of the headman of his own village, a man named Shidou, with his wife and daughter. Miya Kuboti, Bondo the doshin, Yuri from the sake works, and Chu the carpenter, were the other cultists involved in the attack. The blacksmithy worker named Kou, and supposedly a friend of Nigai, was murdered by the cultists on the same night. These crimes had shaken Nigai's dedication to the Bloodspeaker cause.
The most powerful maho-tsukai in the cult, an old woman named Chio, seized control of the cell. She stole from Asai the obsidian amulet, embarking the cultists on a parade of blood sacrifices, intended to enhance the power of the amulet. The crimes eventually escalated and began to affect the samurai of the sample cluster of ten small villages located near the monastery. A group of samurai sent by the Governor Miya Ansho discovered and destroyed the cultists.
