The walls of the shops and houses there were painted with ciphered kanji, and no one could discover the cause and nature of the symbols. Those who investigated found that a man, by the name Bayushi Hamanari, wrote them, and quickly succumbed to his mysterious charm in turn, so they began painting beside him. Eventually the people moved on, finding it easier to move than fight the Bayushi. Centuries later Hamanari continued to scrawl across the walls of his home, waiting for someone to unlock the kanji's secret wisdom.
