Nakodo was the individual that acted as go-between for a Rokugani noble marriage. [1] The groom could impress the parents by purchasing a proper go-between. The nakodo arranged the courtship and began the negotiations with the family of the bride on the groom's behalf. When the nakodo's proposed marriage was accepted it was celebrated in the Yui-no ceremony. [2]
