Nakano was secretly considered a sacred ancestor among the Mantis Clan. [1]

Illegal Trade[]

Nakano was trusted by his Daimyo of an illicit trade of Ivory Kingdoms artifacts with the Yasuki and Crane, despite he felt distaste at disobeying an Imperial Edict. [2]

Betrayed[]

The Yasuki Merchant demanded more than was originally agreed upon, and the trade was cancelled by Nakano. Magistrates were waiting Nakano within his ship and was found guilty of trading in forbidden gaijin goods. Nakano was made ronin, denied seppuku and imprisoned. [2]

Fugitive[]

Nakano managed to overpower his guards and escaped from the prison, joining his crew. Seven years after his disappearance he led his followers against the people in the Crab Clan who had exposed him, resulting in the Battle of the Rolling Waves. [2] After he took his revenge, he was visited by the Mantis Clan Champion, who ordered him to operate independently from the Mantis. Nakano was to attack merchant convoys and give most of the profits back to the Mantis Clan. Nakano created the Rolling Waves, [3] and roved across the sea, saving ships from pirates and was secretly considered a hero of the Mantis. He died peacefully in his sleep in his secret hideout in the Mantis Islands. [4]
