Matsu Dainoku was a Lion Rikugunshokan who dishonorably killed his Taisa Mirumoto Chorude in 500 in an illegal duel. Dainoku managed to stab with a hidden knife in the belly of his opponent. There were two witnesses, one of whom died mysteriously. The other was Heichi Shizugai, the son of the Boar Clan Champion Heichi Batsuda. It was determined that a duel would resolve the matter of Dainoku's guilt, and because Shizugai was still a child his father entered the duel in his place. Dainoku killed Batsuda, and Shizugai swore vengeance.[1]
