The Little Gate Firemen were one of the kajinin of Ryoko Owari. They protected the southernmost part of the Merchant Quarter. [1]

The Little Gate were the most honorable and dutiful of Ryoko Owari's fire fighters. They never asked for bribes, although they would accept gifts. They were only “on duty” part of the time - the rest they worked in shops. They accepted new members for invitation, and it was considered a great honor. [2]

In 1121 in the Month of the Dragon [3] the kaijin leader was supposedly killed by the Ryoko Ninja. The new leader Hiroshi made the unit honest and law-abiding, interfering with the opium trade. [4]
