The Library of the Fiery Centipede was a small library in the lands of the Asako, near Morning Glory Castle, built in the 9th century to foster the exchange of knowledge between the Centipede and Phoenix.
The library was built from gray stone, three stories tall with no visible windows and magically warded from unwelcomed visitors. The wooden entrance was bound with straps of iron, which bore a symbol of a flaming centipede. A secret tunnel provided an emergency exit known only to the Chief Librarian. Small openings admitted the sunlight, which was captured and reflected through lenses and mirrors like a similar one in Amaterasu Seido.
The library was the most complete repository of Fire-based magical research, and even the Masters of Fire had occasionally studied there. Since the death of Amaterasu the fire mastery, that once the Sun Goddess granted, had waned. Since then the element of air had become equally prominent. In the 12th century With the Agasha's discovery of ways to merge elements within single spells, the Moshi research produced new spells that were unavailable to any other shugenja school.
