While the L5R Wiki is open to anyone to edit, we do have some policies and guidelines that we would ask that you follow. Before using the Wiki, you may want to make yourself familiar with the following articles:

• L5R:Cite your sources
• L5R:Guide to writing better articles
• L5R:Infringement
• L5R:Manual of Style
• L5R:Getting started

Although they are not necessary to begin contributing, you may want to eventually know the policies described in the following pages:

[edit] Becoming Active

Although many people may pop in on occassion to spell-check an article or add a bit of information they just found, some will want to become an active part of the community here on the L5R Wiki. To this end, there are several ways that you can become a regular and valued contributor.

[edit] Books Project

The Books Project is an organized plan of inputting all storyline information from all books published for the L5R roleplaying game. If you want to join the project, visit the Books Project page, add your name to one of the untaken books, and, most importantly, add the information from the book to the Wiki.

[edit] Cleanup

Cleanup is one of the most important things that can be done for the articles in the L5R Wiki. While adding information is important, it is also important that the information be presented in an organized and aesthetic way. An ugly, disorganized article doesn't help anyone out, and actually might drive people away from the Wiki.

To this end, if you find an article that needs some serious attention and don't have the time, knowledge, or resources to do it yourself, add the article to the list at L5R:Cleanup. And when you find time, please go through the list there and find some articles about which you are knowledgable and see what you can do to clean them up.

[edit] Clan Magistrates

The newest way to help develop the L5R Wiki is to become a Clan Magistrate. The Magistrates are those who have a special attachment to a particular clan (and, let's face it, L5R is designed to create that attachment in all of us) and who have volunteered to help get that clan's pages in this Wiki up to an exceptional level of quality. The idea being that if you focus on one thing -- and make it something that you already know and love -- the results you will create will be much better.

Any discussion about certain articles will generally go on the Talk page for the article in question. Any general questions about the L5R Wiki and its policies and procedures should go on this talk page.
