The Kouken Sick-house were the home of the Kouken. They were houses filled with beggars and those too sick to earn their living, tended by few Kouken who lived there. The difference between a Kouken sick-house and any other sick-house was the inner sanctum, gardens that were painstakingly cared for. [1]
