Kotoku
Kotoku
Created by: Doji Yasurugi
First used by: Doji Hayaku
Currently in the possession of: Unknown
Nemuranai

Kotoku was the Ancestral Yari of the Daidoji family.

Appearance and Abilities Edit

The yari had an eight-foot shaft which ended in a two-foot blade, with the Doji mon on one side and the Kakita on the other. Kotoku created a protective zone around the bearer, preventing more than one opponent from attacking him. [1] The yari kept commanders who hold it safe from the strongest winds and storms, and it gave courage in the face of any odds, rendering the bearer impervious to fear, doubt and regret while he held it. [2]

History Edit

Daidoji Weapon Edit

Forged by Doji Yasurugi, it was as powerful as the other weapons Yasurugi crafted. Shortly after its creation, Yasurugi managed to defeat six of his skilled kinsman simultaneously with it. The yari was given to Doji Hayaku when he retrieved Yasurugi's blade from the Shadowlands after the first Day of Thunder. Kotoku became the ancestral weapon of the Daidoji family. [2] [3]

Lost Edit

It was lost in 715 when Daidoji Masashigi wielded it against Kinjiro no Oni, and pinned the oni down with it. It was swept into Earthquake Fish Bay at the Battle of Tidal Landbridge. [4]

Recovered Edit

Kotoku was recovered in the second half of the 12th century and the Daidoji kept it secret, being the yari was used by various Harriers. After the Crane organization was dismantled it was brought back to Shiro Daidoji, and occasionally used by the Daidoji Daimyo Daidoji Kikaze, and even his Lady Doji Domotai was not informed of its recovery.
