Kami (spirit)

Kami are spirits which sometimes interact with people, often shugenja. They are known to possess great elemental power. Kami also possess common traits such as emotions and are able to think freely for themselves. Shugenja who are able to sufficiently please kami are usually blessed with their loyalty.

[edit] Types of kami
There are generally five types of kami in existence.
[edit] Air kami
Subtle and varied, these kami are playful and inquisitive. The air kami enjoys a good mystery, and will not run from the chance to help solve one. When asked questions, these kami may answer by asking their own. Air kami are also distracted easily, and if they feel their wisdom isn't being used, they won't hesitate to move on.
[edit] Earth kami
Embodying the traits of strength and persistence, these kami are the most patient. Earth kami believe answers come with time, and often respond to questions with silence.
[edit] Fire kami
Destruction and power are the keys to these kami. The fire kami's wisdom and insight can prove difficult if not immediately comprehended — further more difficult when the fire kami already speak quite fast. Arrogant and egotistical, the power-hungry fire kami are short-lived.
