Kakita Koshiro was a playwright. For years, he mantained a rivalry with critic Doji Barahime regarding the validity of kabuki as an art form. He died in 956. [1]

Secret Love Edit

The art critic Doji Barahime was his secret love, who he met a few years after her husband's death. Koshiro was already married, but the two carried on an affair via correspondence for years. [2] After his death Barahime retired to a monastery. [1]
