The Jade Sect was one of the ten Kolat sects. Its purpose was to destroy the Lying Darkness and the Shadowlands. [1]

Fighting the Foes of Humanity Edit

The Kolat's plan for the future did not include these foes of humanity, and this was why they were planning to destroy them. They, however, did not attack head on enormous threats. Rather, they took care of subtle threats such as maho-tsukai, shapeshifters or Pekkle no Oni, etc. Most often, they discovered the threat and anonymously told about it to other groups which could take care of them, such as the Asako Inquisitors, Kuni Witch Hunters or Emerald Magistrates etc. [1]

Jade Sect Tattoo Edit

The members of the Jade sect were tattooed with a symbol of a pair of swirling lines next to a small cross. [2]

Internal Debate Edit

After the crippling attacks of the Lying Darkness and Shinjo's purge the kolat were disorganized, and many critical agents were isolated. The organization sought a new focus, torn between their desire to remake the Celestial Order and the more pragmatic desire to ensure the organizations existence. The Tiger, Cloud, Lotus, and Dream Masters were traditional Kolat, with Master Cloud the most vocal member of the group. The Steel, Coin, Silk, and Chrysanthemum Masters all adhered to the modern philosophy. Neither Master Jade nor Master Roc seemed interested in this ongoing debate. [3] The latter philosophy was championed by Morito and it seemed to be winning out. [4]

Fall of the Hidden Temple Edit

After the fall of the Hidden Temple, the Jade Sect largely collapsed, though individual members often continued their personal war against the forces of Jigoku. [5]

Jade Masters Edit

The most recent Master Jade was Yasuki Taka, the former Yasuki Daimyo. Taka had been compromised by the Lying Darkness during the War Against Shadow, and was kept in a crystal chamber within the Hidden Temple. [1] His memories were mostly destroyed, but his guile and his hatred of corruption remained fully intact, and he ran the Jade Sect for decades from within his crystal cocoon. [5] The creature simply known as Master Jade was killed with a crysteel blade by Bayushi Tsimaru in 1170, during the Scorpion's assault on the Hidden Temple. [6]
