Ikoma Hanshiro
Ikoma Hanshiro was a courtier and historian of the Lion Clan.
Demeanor
Hanshiro was an affable man, a brilliant tactician, and a merciless killer of his clan's enemies. [1]
Omoidasu
In his youth, Hanshiro was an omoidasu who was appointed beside a high-ranking Lion courtier in the Imperial Court at Otosan Uchi. He was so efficient that his superior depended on him for the Lion delegation to function smoothly. Hanshiro was brilliant on predicted how other courtiers would react to Lionproposals that he took the attention of both the Ikoma Daimyo Ikoma Sume and Matsu Daimyo Matsu Ketsui. Hanshiro eventually was sent to study at the Ikoma Tactician Academy. [1]
Ikoma Elite Guard
Hanshiro excelled at tactics becoming part of the command staff of the Ikoma Rikugunshokan, Ikoma Otemi, who promoted him to gunso of the Ikoma Elite Guard. Hanshiro served as both a lead yojimbo and a military advisor. [1]
Chagatai's Ambition
Hanshiro fought against the Unicorn Clan during the Khan's Defiance. [2] After the Khan Moto Chagatai was defeated in the Battle of Toshi Ranbo Hanshiro wrote the scroll that recorded that event. The data came from third parties. The Lion Clan Champion Matsu Yoshino read the writings and told they were unaccurate. Hanshiro rewrote the scroll from Yoshino's first hand source. [3]
Yoshino's Vow
Hanshiro was present at Shiro Matsu in the Matsu Yoshino's vow to assault Shiro Moto in one year's time, which would be known as the march to Shiro Moto. Yoshino boasted that he would personally kill the Khan Moto Chagatai. [3]
Winter Court
Hanshiro was in attendance at the Winter court of 1170 as head of the yojimbo protecting the Imperial Court delegation. There he became suspicious of another courtier, Kitsu Tinshu, brother of Kitsu Tenshin who served with great distinction in the Ikoma army. Hanshiro tried to trace brother's heritage but instead discovered they were secret living descendants from the Shimizu family, which was supposed to have been entirely destroyed nearly two hundred years ago.
