Ide Yoshiko was the daughter of the Ide Daimyo Ide Tadaji [1] and his wife Asako Kaori. [2] Her mother died giving birth to her brother, the couple's second child. [3]

Yoshiko was a gifted administrator like her father, and had overseen Shiro Ide for many years aided by Ide Jengiri. Jengiri and Yoshiko might eventually marry, but they were content with their roles and their casual relationship. [1]
