Early Years[]

Hsi Tsu

After completing his gempukku, he began to have visions from an ancestor of his, named Hsi Tsu, but he dismissed the visions as fatigue. He realized they were something more when one of his ancestor's prophecies came true: a Mantis ship bringing his sister back from Doji lands sank in a tempest. He joined the Brotherhood of Shinsei as his ancestor told, taking the name of Hsi Tsu. His ancestor guided his path, telling that Fu Leng had resurfaced, that the Mantis would rise to a new level of greatness in the anarchy that resulted, and he was driven to protect the Empire from the threats of which he had been warned. He became a wandering monk who did not stay in the same temple for more than three months. [2]

Race to Volturnum[]

In 1133 Hsi Tsu followed as a healer the Empire armies that marched toward Volturnum. He saw how Doji Kuwanan was grievously wounded by goblin and oni forces. Hsi Tsu knew many of the fighters there would be tainted before they could return safely to Rokugan. [3]
