Hohei

From L5r: Legend of the Five Rings

The rank of hohei is equivalent to the rank of private. They are generally unproven samurai who will demonstrate their worth in battle. They will usually fill the bulk of an army, and most commonly used in charges or as archers. The hohei are commanded by the nikutai. (Dragon p. 25)
