The Guardians of the Mistery was an Otokodate were the descendants of a personal guard stationed in the Nazo Mori region after Otomo Tametsu fell in disgrace at court, due to his ramblings about the forest. They were sent to investigate the forest and their commanders fell to the same perils of Nazo Mori that had besotted several scholars who were in the forest before them. The remainder became ronin and lived among the villagers as peasants, but vowed not to allow the perversion of this land to spread. [1]
