Hida Chikashi was a bushi of the Crab Clan. The day of his gempukku he returned from the Shadowlands with the head of an oni. Chikashi lived at Smooth Rock Village and bore a son, Hida Daitaro. The lack of martial prowess of his son concerned him, but eventually it was found the boy had a deep connection with the Void element. The Inquisitor and Ishiken Isawa Yurei appeared in the village, taking Daitaro under his wing, removing the danger he would cause if his gift was left untrained. [1]
