The Hibagon was a mythical race of secretive ape-men who lived among the branches of the trees of deep forests, especially the Shinomen Mori. They constructed crude woven shelters from sticks and leaves and survived on a diet of fruit, nuts, leaves, and bark. [1] The so-called “Hibagon Village” was said to lie deep in the Shinomen Mori. [2]

Appearance Edit

The Hibagon were shy creatures with a natural hatred of Tainted creatures. They had its entire body covered with brown or black hair except for its hands and feet. It stood on its hind legs like a man, but had a snubbed face and wide-set eyes similar to a monkey. [1] Some said the hibagon were not animals at all; they were descendants of a tribe that refused to accept the rule of the Kami at the dawn of the Empire, and fled into the Shinomen Mori. Over the centuries they had degenerated, becoming stupid, bestial creatures. [3]
