Hantei Hochiahime was the fifth wife of Hantei XXXVIII. She died tainted, and after her son Daigotsu became the Dark Lord, Hochiahime's spirit joined his ranks as Daigotsu Hochiahime.

Kidnapped[]

In 1111, she was kidnapped by Bloodspeakers along with the heir, Hantei Sotorii, and held in a camp in Kiken no Roka, Treacherous Pass. The heir was saved by the mountain-dwelling ronin Yotsu, who traded his son Kyoden with the heir. The Empress, pregnant with the second son of the Emperor, stayed behind so that Yotsu could escape. Hochiahime threw the Empress' Seal to the bottom of the pass to avoid the Yobanjin got it. [1]

Death[]

The Empire assumed she was sacrificed by the Bloodspeakers, but after the bloodspeakers had discovered she was with child they kept her alive long enough to give birth in the Unicorn lands [2] in 1112. [3] Her son was raised among the bloodspeakers and later became Daigotsu. [4]

After Death[]

During the process that caused Daigotsu to become what he was, she became tainted. [5] Hochiahime was murdered by Kyoden after she had given birth her child. [6] After her death she lingered in Jigoku as a yokai from where Hochiahime watched over her son and protected those who loyally served him. [5]
