The Great Games was a tournament held every year by the samurai of the Badger Clan at Shiro Ichiro. This was a three day event includes dueling with no-dachi, nage-yari throwing, stone throwing, boulder carring, and dead-lifting. Sometimes members of other Minor Clans and even ronin were allowed to compete, rewarding the most impressive wave-men with an oath of fealty.
The constest was suspended in times of hardship, such as the long period that followed the rampage of Hideo no Oni. In 1166 the Great Games were resumed, and they halted again in 1171, during the War of Dark Fire. The contests resumed again six years after the end of the Destroyer War.
