Gagaku, or "elegant music" was the most common style of music in Rokugan. Much of that style originated in ancient temples and ceremonial rites where the slow, solemn and majestic tones suited the mood. [1]

Court Edit

It was the traditional music performed for the Imperial Court, played by an orchestra of bronze bells, flutes, and drums. Dancers accompanied the music in a form of courtly dance known as bugaku. [2]
