Nemuranai

Shinjo Shono's Crystal Eye was a nemuranai created by Moto Vordu. Vordu crafted it while studying the City of Night. It was made of Night Crystal, a substance so far found only in the city. [1]

Creation[]

Vordu made a deal with Shinjo Shono: Vordu would teach Shono ways to fight the Kolat, while Shono would submit himself to Vordu's experiments. Vordu put Shono to sleep and when Shono woke up his left eye had been replaced with one made of Night Crystal. Vordu wanted to replace Shono's right eye, as well, but Shono fled before Vordu could try. It is not known if Vordu had already made a second eye or if he planned to make it while Shono was out. If that was the case, there would exist a second, unused eye. [1]

Powers[]

Shono's eye had several powers. It allowed Shono to see in natural darkness, and to discern the true form of any shapeshifters or spirits that he saw. The eye glowed green any time there was a Tsuno within 200 feet of his location, and Shono became much more combat-effective when fighting Tsuno. The eye had been growing more powerful with time and may have granted new abilities as it did so. [1]

Shinjo Shono was killed in 1170, and it was unknown if any others would take the eye and what abilites, if any, it would grant that person. [2]
