Pride of the Hand
Benika's Pride was a pride of lions acting as scouts for Beastmaster Matsu Benika. After she became the bearer of the Hand of the Jade Dragon they were known as the Pride of the Hand.
Tomb[]
Benika's Pride
The lion fought in 1168 in the Battle of the Tomb. When Benika entered the Tomb of the Seven Thunders the pack followed Matsu Takuya while the Lion was fighting the beasts of Jigoku. [1]
Effects of the Hand[]
After Benika was gifted with the Hand of the Jade Dragon the demeanor of the pride changed. The bond between Benika and the lions had strengthened, and they seemed not to suffer the effects of the elements at all. Whereas once she would have been very careful to monitor them around the other samurai, men they were not familiar with, she no longer felt the need; none of the cats seemed even vaguely interested in the others. [2] Since that they were called Pride of the Hand. [3]
Destroyer War[]
During the Destroyer War they seemed to have gained a taste for Destroyers flesh. [4] Before they entered in combat the lions were barding, a strange sort of customized armor, that protected them in many places, with massive steel talons that fit over their own. [5]
In 1173 they fought the forces of Kali-Ma in the Battle of Kyuden Ashinagabachi. [5]
Jade's Roar[]
The leader of the pride was known as the Jade's Roar. [6]
