Moto Yong-tai was a shugenja of the Unicorn Clan and a member of the Hidden Guard.

Test of the Jade Champion

In 1169 Yong-tai asked an audience with the Khan Moto Chagatai, but each day she was dismissed. The Khan was busy with the defence of the Unicorn territory in the Lion march to Shiro Moto. She was persistent and returned every morning to ask again, and finally when Horiuchi Shem-Zhe and Iuchi Katamari where with her, Chagatai let her talk with him. The three shugenja asked to represent the Unicorn in the Jade Championship and all were granted permission.

Moto Yong-tai

Yong-tai wished to use the custom Engaging the Wind, as the duel convention, but it was not known by her opponent. She defeated the Hare Ujina Saionji using her gaijin magic.

Hidden Guard

After the contest Yong-tai was approached by Seppun Tomaro, a member of the Hidden Guard. He was impressed by her, and offered to enter his organization. Yong-tai accepted and joined them.

Winter Court - 1171

Yong-tai attended the second Winter Court of Iweko I at Kyuden Gotei in 1171. While there she aided the Ide Daimyo Ide Eien to arrange a treaty with the Phoenix Clan that would result in helping to secure the knowledge kept by those two Clans.

Imperial Proclamation

The Empress proclaimed that she was suspending the edict demanding the immediate execution of Daigotsu, and demanded that he be brought before her.
